LLoyds Bank

I have just been informed that the Lloyds Bank in Ealing Broadway will be closing in the first part of next year and relocating to a unit in the Broadway Centre. Hope the old premises won't be another chicken shop!

No, but we can expect to see the model employed elsewhere in the UK. The 'banking hub' allows for normal transactions for multiple banks and is funded by all of them.

Can we really expect bank branches to stay open when they have half a dozen customers coming in each day? It would be commercial madness.

Fair enough some things move forward & others if it ain’t broke….Banks made it bloody awkward to go in & use them. Online is ok in part, but quite often you need to speak to a real person.Cash is still legal tender. Why should people be discriminated against by the barriers put up against using it.Supermarkets with uselessl self service tills, predominantly card payment.You might of missed it but paying in cash is on the rise again. Good

It's not sad, but things move forward.While there is often a lot of negativity on public forums and in society, with people not agreeing with the way things progress, we have to recognise that, particularly with Banking, things are not the same now as they were 10 or 20 years ago.There is far more choice than ever before.When being sceptical of progress or change, it's always worth remembering Henry Ford: "If I had asked people what they wanted, they would have said faster horses."

At least there are still banks in the centre of Ealing. Ten years ago, Acton High Street had five and then there were none. The Banking Hub offers some services, but that's your lot.

They’re moving into the old Amazon Fresh store opposite Itsu, Ealing Broadway.

They have been supposed to be moving several times but then have still been there.  I believe they will moving to premises very close by to their old premises.  I do hope it won't be all machines.  I wonder if they heard the news this morning that there has been an increase in the use of CASH!  It is never wise to just depend one one method of payment when there are so many glitches that can happen with IT!
