Council funding to be redirected from England’s rich areas to most deprived

Given that my street hasn't been swept for almost a year, the local roads have all the drains blocked with leaves and my local park is a crumbling disgrace, you would hope that Ealing's council tax will not be affected - https://www.theguardian.com/society/2024/nov/28/council-funding-redirected-rich-areas-most-deprived-england-local-government

And if we want to go down the road of paying based on the services we use, that's a slippery slope.

Most people pay for some services they don't get or ever use.  The services we use or need to use throughout our lives vary. It is important that the critical ones are there for when we do need them.

Why should we (or I) pay for a service we don’t get?The council tax is already going up 5% courtesy 2 tier kier, & I might be wrong but I think local councils can add on a whack.If residents do the councils work, that should be taken off bill

There are lots of jobs that Councils have to do - why is it that we only think about a few of them?  Some things residents can more easily do for themselves but some things they just can't.

I doubt if the clowns at Perceval house know what a spreadsheet is. Like my neighbours, I could sweep up all the streets leaves but why should I or they as we all pay council tax for the privilege? I have spoken to my councillors who have given up asking the council to actually do their job. I would probably get shirty in their shoes as the council are hapless and hopeless.

What's the point when there is reduced funding to mindlessly stick to an Excel Sheet of jobs when the trees don't drop their leaves to order or schedule?Ealing Council will give you some bags to put leaves into if they are really bad near you.  Then you can do something useful (if you can) when it is needed.  You can also make a report to say where there is a particularly bad/dangerous collection of leaves causing dangerous conditions.  Try using the Council's website - or get in touch with your Councillors.  However if you are abusive don't be surprised if they don't feel inclined to give you a speedy reply because I wouldn't and I don't have anything to do with the Council.
