Playgrounds in Lamas Park

Does anyone know who I can contact about the state of the playgrounds in Lamas park? Everything is falling apart with no repairs for years, but we do have a new parkour area (not sure who is going to repair that when it inevitably breaks, or what the point is) and a concrete memorial. In a children's playground. No disrespect to the lady and her family but a concrete memorial with sharp edges and steps in a children's playground seems a strange idea.  I don't want any political advice. Just who I can contact. The parks department? My local councillor? Who even is that for Lamas? Thanks for any advice.

Still no sign of a proper impact assessment for both nearby properties and for health and safety and no mitigation for how biting insects , animal waste, stagnant water will be controlled and maintained right next to a children's playground, an early learning centre and a park that has traditionally been a safe place for children to play sports.And the water and mud will be deep not a kiddies paddling pool.And as ever not a single name taking the responsibility or brave enough to explain the complete vacuum of communication other than the PR written sugar coated utopia that is far from the reality.

I walked through Lammas Park for the first time in ages yesterday morning and couldn't believe what I was seeing -- huge areas cut off and a great hole!

Not sure about that, I think the council owns the rain water whilst it's in transit to the sewer system?It's a council SUD in lammas park I think, to take water from the roads (yuck).

Looks like this September will be the second one without the Half Marathon being able to use the park.

I phoned the Council Parks department about the uneccessary diversion of a footpath through the swamp in Lammas park. They said they did not handle complaints. Thames Water couldn't find it as a site they were working on. I wrote to 4 out of 6 councillors whose wards border the park. After a number of days with neither acknowledgement nor response I sent the email again suggesting that I had fulfilled my side of the bargain by paying my Council Tax and that theirs was to engage with me. I suggested that I would would be prepared to challenge this breach of contract in the courts.A Ms Nagpal qickly responded by saying she would look at the problem by which time the footpath was being reinstated and the barrier removed.

First port of call is your local councillor. They will know who to speak to and it should be quicker than trying to go through the council’s labrynthine contact system. Of course, it also depends on how competent your councillor is.
