FYI, if it was a conservative council doing this I’d be just as critical. I have no political affiliation so perhaps an better equipped than either of you to look at this objectively.It’s not about producing world class golfers either. It’s about providing affordable facilities for the community. That applies to other sports too, because we are constantly told that people should be more active. Maybe you’d prefer these golfers to forego playing and just watch it on tv.The plans for this park, which largely covers existing open and accessible land, includes an entertainment arena. Presumably those generations of future residents will enjoy the closure of large swathes of the park as these events occur, exactly as happens with Gunnersbury now. Locals there are largely unhappy with that arrangement.The post from Mike regarding the Perivale closure encapsulates it all. Why don’t you read it, engage brain and think for yourself rather than parrot the party line.
