My, my, we are touchy Ben.Most people don’t do their shopping or commute by bike, despite your claim. It’s a leisure pursuit (not ‘leisurely’). The laughable thing is that cycling gets wrapped up with walking in the active travel campaign, but the bulk of the budgets go on cycling infrastructure while the pavements are left in a terrible state. In fact, cycling infrastructure is making life more dangerous for pedestrians with floating bus stops. How ironic that Will Norman, Sadiq Khan’s cycling czar, was punched by a cyclist he challenged for failing to stop at a crossing! You do come across as an LCC zealot. Much of your argument is the same unsubstantiated claims and over exaggeration used by them. It’s widely acknowledged that the LCC is steering transport policy in London, to the detriment of the majority of Londoners who prefer alternative transport, including buses and tubes. So he many people have been killed on Uxbridge Road. So please provide your statistics for m, say, the past decade. More people are murdered in London every year than die on the roads, by an enormous margin. Maybe you should go and talk to their families about the lack of police. If you think I’m obstinate, tough. We’ve had years of your type of BS. Until you can produce any evidence to support your arguments then you convince nobody. Emoting like an overgrown toddler doesn’t cut it. Surprised you haven’t wheeled out the ‘what about the children’ line yet.
