Interviews for Dissertation
I am Mahnoor Qureshi, a final-year student at Warwick University, currently undertaking a dissertation on the experiences of South Asian women who migrated to Britain in the twentieth century. My research, supervised by Dr. Simon Peplow, involves conducting oral interviews to understand their first-hand perspectives of migration, considering political, economic, social and cultural aspects. The aim is to conduct in-depth oral interviews to capture a range of perspectives. I will delve into topics such as their involvement in political movements, experiences of workplace discrimination, social integration within the UK, the maintenance of cultural heritage, and their personal and community's economic journey. I am reaching out to seek assistance in connecting with individuals who would be willing to share their stories. This study offers an opportunity for their voices to be heard and their experiences to be documented for historical and academic inquiry. Interested participants are welcome to contact me at mahnoor.qureshi@warwick.ac.uk for further information or to express their interest in contributing to this important work. Additionally, please feel free to reach out with any questions, or if anyone would like a more detailed discussion about the project before deciding to participate. Kind regards,Mahnoor Qureshi
