"Remember Glenkerrin and their 24 storey tower (originally planned for 40 stories) at Ealing Broadway that was finally kiboshed by the Secretary of State? That was in 2008 when Conservatives were in". That seems to have encouraged Labour, when they got into power in Ealing in 2010, under Julian Bell and now Peter Mason, to push more for the erection of more death trap towers/ council tax farms throughout the borough of Ealing. Labour, now under Peter Mason, seemed to have learn't nothing. There are proposals to erect another tall block on the site of the Glenkerrin site. In between, there were Arcadia 2 proposals, approved by Labour on the Planning Committee in early 2016, that ultimately failed. Labour are good, it seems, at disingenuous virtue signalling, but nothing much else, in order to "protect public services". They could not even produce a statutory Authority Monitoring Reprt for 5 years, and they got rid of Planning Notification Letters to inform the people of developments that could affect them adversely.
