Help with journey planning

Can anyone advise the best way from Ealing Broadway Station to Slough. Looking on the TFL website it seems I can either use the GWR or the Elizabeth line. Which would be the best to use? Thanks

N.V.Brooks is correct. I used to visit a friend living in Oxford. The ticket office at EB would sell me a ticket for use between West Drayton & Oxford.

The ticket office at EB can sell you a ticket between any two stations on the rail network, they often tell you that they can't which is inccorect.

What time of day were you traveling? FreedomPass is invalid on tube and rail before 9 and 9:30 am, can't recall which is which. Of course they haven't reinstigated and seems never will now the free tube travel before 9/9:30 am which was swiftly introduced under "Covid."FreedomPass on rail has always been invalid before 9/9:30 am weekdays.

Update on earlier post. I was too late for the Elizabeth line so had to use the GWR.  In the past when I used this to Slough I could show my Freedom Pass and just pay the difference from West Drayton to Slough. This time I had to pay the full fare from Ealing Broadway. I know the Elizabeth line is free for Freedom Pass holders but I didn't know the GWR arrangement had changed.

Either Pat, however, if you are of the age where you qualify for a Freedom Pass then you can travel to Slough for free on the Elizabeth Line.
