It's not meetings that are needed, it's on the street pro action. And it will take years, not a week here and a week there. This is a truly unspeakable crime, but one of several that are on completely innocent people, black, white, male, female. All unacceptable and simply should not happen in a civil society.Endless rhetoric from politicians but like so much, no action and when it does happen, done ham fistedly. Upsetting just about everyone and failing. The Met have been conducting surveys for a few years and yet the feedback is clearly not getting through as much of what was raised yesterday ( as reported) is pretty much what is continually being raised.Unfortunately this Mayor and administration seem averse to taking a strong policy towards dealing with the issues. We've had it in South Ealing with a cold blooded murder just a few months agoand a nasty series of incidents in Brentford . But the warnings were raised and to be fair some increase in Policing made.....for about a week. But the fear of causing offence to very shouty groups who on one hand want rights put first but on the other want an end to knife crime killings. If it is this far out of control then draconian rules need to be put in place to make it clear to everyone where the line to not cross is.But it needs to be civil and respectful. If you have nothing to hide, then you definitely should have nothing to fear.Currently the Police have an almost lose - lose situation and whilst the Mayor passed the buck and shafted his Chief to divert his own failings ( He has had several years to get rid of her and probably should have) His campaign for weeding out the bad apples in the Met needs to go further. Needs to weed out the Bad apples in the community, in politics and administration and everywhere where crime and violence, corruption and disparity has become the norm.Does anyone hear anything from our local GLA members?I cannot even offhand think of their names, certainly they are never seen or heard.
