mobile air conditioner

We are getting fed up with the heat and are thinking of purchasing a couple of mobile air conditioners. The problem is that I have read that you need to seal off the windows with a kit. We also have both veluxes and windows that that open out from the bottom.Does anyone know anyone locally who can help with such aircon and fitting such a window kit?

I am looking at 2 rooms. A loft room with a centre pivot velux and another with a top hung outward window. the advanatage of sealing the opened window is that it is supposed to masively increase the efficiency of the AC unit.

If you have sliding sashes then a lot of these units come with a kit that is a doddle to fit. In fact you don’t “fit” anything, the sash traps the panels and you open it up to width of window.Not seen any that work with side hung casements or veluxes BUT….. you don’t really need to seal every window for the unit to work. Makes them slightly less efficient but does job fine. We have ours out the French doors of the loft juliet balcony and works fine.Be warned though…. These are VERY noisy!!! Turns into white noise at night but I’d struggle to work with one on in my office
