My sub-office is near to Lammas Park. The increase in flats and limitations of open space and affordable local facilities has already affected Lammas and Walpole Park both of which regularly look like Beaches on a hot bank holiday. Simply not enough open space for people to relax and escape the madding crowds.Over the last few years it has changed. It is very middle class bunch regularly flouting bye laws in Lammas Park. Late night barbecues, lots of noise and the braying donkey laughter and shouting which only posh kids seem to master. Many of the kids display a rather smarmy arrogance and disdain that is not the same as the punk era of rebellion - which was not always nice to experience either. Most is harmless but a lot of late night screaming and drunken arguments. There's a lot of drug activity and those Blacked out expensive cars are evident again as well.Of, late it seems to be legions of Schoolkids, many from Elthorne but now joined by the new Academy in Northfields and from Gunnersbury and quite hostile shouting and bating mainly from girls. A colleague tells me that cameras have been put on lampposts at the South Ealing end as so much undesirable behaviour seems to be in that vicinity.Much seems to be orchestrated by smartphones which seem to really be damaging young people more than we will admit to.
