What's happening at Ealing Broadway station?

Given that we have the ''fag end'' of the Elizabeth line developments in Ealing, why is part of the outside concourse still closed off? It's no better inside as the stairs that take you down a level to Central/District lines still have temporary banners towards the District line platforms. It looks like a mess, hardly surprising if the PRE/tfl are in charge I'd suggest.

Unfortunately we seem to have been the poor relations in respect to CrossRail/ the Elizabeth Line. Even now, EB still resembles a bit of a building site. I’m an OAP so don’t have to use the station hardly now, but with various health issues, it seemed not to provide much for us crumblies.

That Nick, AFAIK, is the current public version of the plan showing the lack of adjacent access.

What else did we all expect from the PRE & tfl working together on the station/road lay out?

No seating as the elderly and less ambulent simply don't matter.The initial "visualisation plan"  either meant, on the eastbound side negotiating steps down to the forecourt or crossing the road from the loading only bay on the western side.  There was never any planned provision for wheelchair or aid users to be dropped off adjacent to the the entrance.Shameful

Are any plans available to show what it is going to look like( the road plan)?I notice there is no seating at ground level for weary/ elderly travellers!

It was  much easier 30 years ago. Without all the fuss and drama of 'rights and issues' Staff had common sense and people just knew when to help others instinctively. Not true of everyone but instinct , common sense and doing the right thing did not need a raft of laws and muddied confusion. It just happened.

Thirty years ago though Raymond you could at least stop on the forecourt and indeed park for up tp ten minutes to help a less ambulant traveller down the steps. They would always either let you through the barrier to help or actually provide assistance from a member of staff.Less able passengers have simply been neglected in this 'modernisation'.

Found taking a restricted mobility neighbour to an event over the weekend that Ealing Broadway was the biggest impediment to the entire journey there and back.It's as bad as it has always been going back 30 years.A few girder uprights and swanky glass panels has not really made any difference to the poor access and the length of time it takes to use if you are limited in a relatively small way.Really is a very poor relation to what has been done on the other ends of the line.

TFL make great play of always having staff available to help disabled passengers. Saying that they and LB Ealing couldn't organise even a single car space to drop off disabled travellers adjacent to the station.
