Should we be reassured on Ealing's Cinema?

Peter Mason and Cllr Anand have been featured in a new video issued by Ealing Council from the Filmworks site eating popcorn and promising that Ealing will be getting a cinema. I would assume it has been made partly in response to the article that was recently published on this site which reported that the cinema wouldn't be opening until the end of the year. One thing that doesn't appear to be mentioned in the video is a date with Covid being used as the excuse for the delays but other construction projects are cracking along quite nicely and haven't missed deadlines certainly not by this extent. It is mentioned that a Picturehouse representative was at the site but that doesn't necessarily give total reassurance. The financial troubles of the group have been well covered and there is a big question about the viability of multi-screen cinemas on the scale of this one with many films now being released on streaming channels. There simply may not be enough films to show on eight screens. Neither Cllr Mason nor Cllr Anand are financial analysts so they can't know for sure that Picturehouse will be around or will stick to its commitments.

...and they will not respond to enquiries that many of those remaining carers remain operational and are being used to collate data.Which unless clearly advertised is actually illegal and a breach of the data protection act.

I was told recently that the cameras which recorded the errant motorists that went past the LTN barriers in south Ealing came from a company run by one of the Politburo apparently.

There’s an election coming up so all propaganda is now being put out there. The video seemed to show that finishing the work is a long way off.Bear in mind that the cinema part of the development was the last thing to be signed off. The developers are really only interested in the swanky flats because that’s where the money is. While Covid has added some delay, the reason the project isn’t finished is because of all the wrangling that went on for years.Of course, Mason and Bell are keen to take credit for the cinema. Seems they are less keen to take criticism for the rotten towers springing up everywhere or the way the character of Ealing has been shredded.
