Is Alex Stafford a pork pie plotter?

Has anyone been keeping tabs on Alex Stafford, formerly of this parish, and his doings in Rother Valley?  It would interesting to know if he was one of the pork pie plotters involved in the coup attempt against Johnson or indeed if he might be considering doing a Christian Wakefield and defecting to Labour. I had a quick scan of his social media and was unable to find any messages of support for the Prime Minister at this difficult time for him.

If he was a pork pie plotter he no longer is because he's been given a job at the Ministry of Defence. This effectively means he is endorsing Johnson's leadership. Might prove to be bad timing.

It's Wakeford not Wakefield - Christian Wakefield is a prominent surgeon.It looks more like a souffle plot than a pork pie plot now with some of the rebels now withdrawing their letters after a bit of intimidation from the whips' office.No idea where Alex Stafford stands in all this but he must know he is toast at the next election if Boris survives. He probably is also a one term MP if the fiscally conservative Sunak becomes the next leader as there will be less money available for his constituency. He and other 'red wall' MPs may be coalescing around an alternative candidate - best guess is that it is Michael Gove.

Another problem is that some/many within the "Leadership" of the "Council" Conservatives only see Local Politics as a stepping stone to MP.  This disinterest may explain their complete lack of visibility and profile locally. They have a HUGE problem when the LibDems are better known than they are, but they don't seem to care, let alone DO anything about it.

I think the void between local conservatism and the Westminster scene is as wide as it is with Labour.Problem is voters never see it that way.
