‘Worthwhile and important?I know people who have never had a hard copy delivered to their house in Hanwell, so perhaps they aren’t important enough. You say make positive suggestions. Many have been made to councillors and directly to the editor, all ignored. They even took out the pages listing the councillors and their contact details at one point a year or two back. It was only reinstated as a result of some sustained pressure.Nobody has a problem with being given useful and accurate information but this publication has been used as a political propaganda sheet for years. We’ve asked for it to be neutral in tone and content. As you point out the council is made up of different political parties, the electorate likewise. And since this is funded from our tax, it shouldn’t simply advocate the policies of the current incumbents of the Town Hall. Balance is sadly lacking. What’s really shameful is the inability to properly inform residents of major policy proposals that directly impact everyone in Ealing. There have been numerous examples of this practice over the years. The response I got when querying this was ‘the information is available online’. Yes, but only for those with online access, who know what they are looking for and where to find it.
