Paul, you are so predictable. Do you have anything worthwhile to say? Do you actually comprehend anything that goes on around you that doesn’t fit into your microscopic view of the world?Cars are not the problem here. It’s overdevelopment and shovelling far higher population density than even the London plan allows for. You are a member of Ealing Matters, so you should be aware of the excellent work carried out in that area by Libby Kemp.Ealing allows property developers free reign. Go away and look at the plans already approved and those in the pipeline. Mason and co can’t even be bothered to reopen Gurnell because their long term plan is another stab at sticking high rise blocks on the site. So another precious local amenity remains shut while idiots like Bell bleat in about promoting health and fitness. There are probably more swimmers in Ealing than cyclists. Not catering for them is it?But the crux of this is why are you and a minority of others so keen on social cleansing? Are new homes only to be for those who fit the mould you believe everyone should come from? There’s no law against owning a car. Indeed you know that Ealing relies on car ownership for a large slice of its annual revenue. Pays for cycling infrastructure and subsidised fares amongst other things.Your comment about teachers and doctors living in the flats is pure nonsense. Do you think professional people might not have need of a car? I know a couple of GPs in Ealing. They both own cars and regularly have to drive for work, including stints at Covid vaccination centres. But of course that doesn’t fit with your narrative. You really ought to get yourself an education, pal. And not just from the LCC handbook.
