I understand that the New Ealing Council is going to be opening pawn brokers next to the Ealing and other food banks to make it easier for hard-up people of all classes to get the food they need.

There's no point in being negative about it though.  When help is being offered as it is by Age UK it is worthwhile checking.I believe that the pension glitch of underpaid pensions that a former pensions minister discovered that I mentioned some time ago is now being put right by Govt rather than expecting everyone to put in a claim.  I hope so!https://www.thisismoney.co.uk/money/pensions/article-9322725/Underpaid-state-pensions-3bn-win-Steve-Webb-Money.html

If you have an income less than the new pension -- just under £180 a week -- then you can claim pension credit, assuming you haven't got lots of savings. If not, then I suspect that there's very little entitlement.

We've spent hours helping others on this.Despite what is being said, very, very few actually do qualify.Basically it's all smoke and mirrors and it's near impossible despite what all the guff states.
