The new sports centre at Trailfinders looks fantastic and will be a great addition to the area. What the article about it doesn't really address is where the team would play if they were promoted to the top division. I have got stuck in traffic jams while dropping off at mini-Rugby fixtures and Vallis Way is hardly Wembley stadium at the moment. Presumably a ground with a single access point like that can't be upgraded although I do remember going along to the Causeway Stadium when Wasps played there which had a single entry point. With the Brentford Community Stadium already nabbed — where else is there for them to play? If they went to the Reading stadium that London Irish used to be at they'd no longer really be an Ealing club.

The previous season when Ealing were in contention with London Irish to go up, they said they had a ground audited by the RFU which would be suitable. This isn't Vallis Way which clearly wouldn't be up to standard. The location was not specified and, at that point, it might have been the Brentford Community Stadium which Irish now play at.Warren Farm is an interesting notion as I'm sure the council are still keen to do something there. Loftus Road is probably the only other option in west London. However, as Wasps have shown, rugby is already a franchise sport and there is no reason Trailfinders have to stay in London. The south coast for instance doesn't have a professional rugby team.

Hanwell Town ground share. Close enough to Perivale (dreadful Central line service to West Ruislip at weekends) Station
