West Ham have , allegedly, already tabled a bid of £35m for Mr. Toney. Can we make it 10th time lucky? Looking forward to a weekly spanking in the Premiership when we can justifiably re-earn our nickname of the dark early 90's 'Brentford nil' :-) We may even spring a surprise on one or two given the chance.

Tonight must be a nearly last chance for the Bees, win or draw at Bournemouth and you are surely in the final. Fulham and QPR can have their own little league in west London while you're getting your bottom spanked week after week in the Premiership. Failure to reach the final will see Toney off to the Premiership and you start all over again.

Good old QPR, we did the Bees a favour but you couldn't take advantage of it, maybe we'll both be playing Fulham next season now

I hope Fulham stay up , we might then have a chance of signing Stefan Johansen , he's been great for us as a loan signing , same as Charlie Austen though Charlie's wages may be a bit of a problem for a long term signing.

Looks like it's the lottery of the play offs for Spartak Hounslow again. QPR did you a favour end of last season but you couldn't take advantage of it. Whereas I'd like to see both of us along with Fulham playing each other next season (in front of a live audience) I can't call it this year. You don't want to join the champion 'bottlers' Derby County who are now just an average Championship side

Then we went on to have that great side in 1976 .Just pipped for the title by Liverpool who played their last match on the Tuesday after the last Saturday of the season.I still remember sitting in the Crown and Sceptre in the Bush listening to a transistor radio ( sounds like a hundred years ago!) Liverpool had to win and if Wolves lost they were relegated. Wolves took the lead but ended up losing 3.1. We were pipped to the title by one point. Generally accepted by many neutrals to be the best side never to win the title.

Years of bring asked if I still supported 'Brentford nil' by QPR fans used to hurt, right up until the moment that QPR lost 8-1 at Man Utd, and accumulated a heady 18 points in a full First Division season.

Well done MrPPJ. As a Rangers supporter then and now my recollection is that the Brentford chairman Jack Dunnett had tax problems and made the offer to Jim Gregory the QPR chairman. Yet to this day Bees supporters of a certain vintage blame QPR for the proposed " take over" . Rangers fans didn't want this we were a London club.

I went to that meeting and remember Bobby Ross addressingthe crowd. At that time, all the shenanigans regarding ownership behind the scenes usually featuring Jack Dunnettwent right over the top of my head, and still does to a certain extent. Not that I've followed them for decades. In those days football was cheap entertainment. Even if that "entertainment" often consisted of hopping up and down in a vain attempt to keep warm in freezing conditions in the Brook Rd stand, praying for the final whistle so as to put the seal on another 1 nil defeat.I can still remember thawing out my hands at half time on the piping hot cups of tea. Oh happy days !michael adams...

Sadly, it was a well-deserved animosity as the whole thing was so underhand. I remember my dad giving me an extra half-crown and telling me to 'give it to Mr. Pond-Jones' at each home game I attended. This was easy as I was in the cubs with his son!

As a QPR fan I remember 1967 (just). The stick we took and still do as the ones who suggested it all without any involvement of Brentford has created the dislike of us by the Bees. It doesn't go the other way though, as it doesn't with us and Fulham. The other unacceptable lot in SW6 though!
