Is Bell(end) still flying the EU flag over our town hall or has he finally seen sense? We should ideally have the Union Jack and the flag of England if there are two flag poles

As we see from US adding tariffs on british exports but not on eu over our plans for a tech tax it shows that our influence is dwindling so perhaps we will see smaller union flags flown.

Not necessarily (since 1908) Keith although until I was sent this reference a couple of years ago I would have agreed with you."From its earliest days, the Admiralty often referred to the flag – however it was used – as the Union Jack. In 1902 an Admiralty Circular announced that either name could be used officially. And in 1908 the UK Parliament approved this verdict, stating that ‘the Union Jack should be regarded as the National flag’."From https://www.flaginstitute.org/wp/british-flags-2/the-union-jack-or-the-union-flag/

According to recent government guidelines only the union Jack is allowed to fly on single flag poles...

I understand that we are still members of the Council of Europe. We still appear to be in the same place on a map of the world.
