Very sad news regarding the death of Glenn Roeder at the age of 65. Rangers supporters of a certain vintage will remember him as a cultured centre half bringing the ball out of defence and doing the "Roeder Shuffle" as he did so.He played in the '82 cup final against Spurs but missed the replay owing to suspension . Otherwise the result may have been different .RIP.

Top man and one of my favourite players.Ahead of his time, given how centre halves like to play today. I'd have more faith in him than the likes of Barbet & Cameron.Just heard Ian St John has also passed away.Rip Glenn and ISJ

The intelligent mans player who could play in the centre of defence or in midfield, breaking forward with the ball after his famous shuffle. Reading the kindness he showed players under him only serves to compound the loss to English football and to QPR
