What twaddle.Particulate matter from Heathrow has been measured into three miles from the airport. That’s from the planes, in case you didn’t understand the point.I’m sure the businesses around Heathrow that aren’t reliant on the airport, and there are many, would be delighted at your suggestion of a huge congestion zone. The biggest increase in road traffic is from delivery vehicles. The airport will still need servicing, mostly by diesel powered vehicles. If it’s larger it will need more servicing, therefore more vehicles. The plan is to massively increase the number of flights into and out of the airport so your argument about the time spent in the air falls apart because there will be MORE planes. Equals MORE emissions and MORE noise.Of course, more economic activity is related to non-airport road use, so I don’t see why massively expanding Heathrow is in most residents interests. And now you are making things up about street trees. The council don’t remove them because people don’t like them ‘dripping’ on their cars. I bet if you asked them they’d laugh at you. Most trees that have come down have Ben diseased and thus posing a danger. Obviously some have simply fallen over because of poor maintenance and the roots being damaged by roadworks. But I don’t expect any rational arguments from you, Paul. Like many rabidly anti-car fanatics you are quite happy to drive I’ve when it suits you.
