And what about uneven pavements from street trees and this damaged by road works? And Phillippa before you start to pontificate wisdom, much of it simple common sense that people do generally try to do just go out and see what actually happens. If we leave out bin on the edge of our boundary, it goes unemptied - every week.If the food waste is not out on the pavement it goes unemptied. Come to that it goes unemptied even if it's left out on the pavement.Every week the bin is not returned to the property but left on the pavement. If I'm working away then it stays like that till I return.Does anyone else move it? Not a chance and of course if it does get dumped in front of your front door it's a big advert to need do wells that you home is unoccupied. As for hedges, many elderly cannot manage them and I do a few locally, but it does sadden me that others sitting around enjoying their 80% furlough don't lift a finger to do anything for others. But it's the dreadful state of pavements all over the place that make it poor for many to use. And the vast amount of increased dusting plane tree leaves that are the highest risk for asthmatics and those with respiratory problems which are 1000 times more  likely to trigger irritations than any other form of pollution. One road I regularly visit a relative in, Clovelly Road in South Ealing. Has not been swept for well over a year. It has irritating dust everywhere and unfortunately for me is the one thing that triggers my Asthma.Cannot understand why the residents there are not bothered about their unkempt street, which is a rather nice street.
