Pizza Express Closures

I was very pleased to see that the local branch of Pizza Express has survived. It has always been a cut above other outlets of the same brand. I normally prefer to go to non-chain restaurants but make an exception for this one. Sadly there willl probably a few Ealing restaurants that don't survive.

Interesting that Soanes Kitchen has failed. The disgraceful debacle of stuffing up a family built coffee hut has never gone away.And as for the Manor. Getting lottery bailouts for overpaid and underachieving Pitzhanger Manor and the main gates to the Park remixing lOcked as though the Publicly owned and funded Manor House was not for the people of ealing remains thoroughly distasteful.Really good venues will survive, people will remember those that are pretentious and trumped up and those that pull a fast one , Like several local eateries during this months  50% off deal.

Carluccio's had 70 restaurants. Boparan Restaurant Group bought 30 of them. Ealing is not one of those 30 so its future is very much in doubt.

I had heard some months ago that Carluccios's were in serious trouble, and Gourmet Burger Kitchen too, although GBK seem to have managed to reopen their Ealing branch.I do hope that if those chains don't go completely that the branches here will survive, as they always seemed to be very busy.If nothing else, COVID-19 has exposed just what shaky ground a lot of companies in this country were on, both in hospitality and other industries.

Carluccio's is coming out of administration and many outlets will simply not reopen.
Cote has still technically avoided administration but lots of their restaurants will not be coming back.
Bill's have shut some sites but appear to have fared better than many chains.
Whatever happens the dining scene has been changed radically by Covid-19.

I couldn't agree more, the food is always excellent there, and the staff are lovely.Sad to hear today that Soane's Kitchen won't be reopening. It wasn't cheap, but the food was very good indeed. I do hope something similar replaces it, I will be very disappointed if it becomes yet another noodle bar or burger place!I'm a bit worried that there seems to be no sign yet of Carluccio's, Cote, or Bill's reopening, which are all part of chains. I do hope they survive.
