Flight path

Is the Brentham Garden Estate affected much by the flight path? I know West London is under it but there appear to be little pockets which seem to escape the brunt of it. Thanks in advance.

The 747s have vastly increased because of their suitability for freight which LHR is understandably prioritising - food, drink, medical, spare parts, etc. Indeed the 747 was originally built as a freight carrier - my Dad was heavily involved in its design,

I'm kind of on the same latitude as the estate and don't really have a major problem with aircraft noise. The situation might have changed if the third runway was built which would have brought more plans overhead but this looks like a very distant prospect right now.

Actually a lot of 747 freighters are still flying over  747-400s  are very much quieter than earlier models which were very rare by 2018.  Some smaller aircraft still make a lot of noise for their size.But anyone know what and why a small aircraft criss/crossed Ealing and Brentford some 38 times yesterday morning ( Wednesday )? This is the third or fourth time during the lockdown that this clearly mapping  routing has occurred, but why ? Not the same as the aircraft that tests the radar  and homing approaches which tends to be at night.

The coronavirus pandemic has accelerated the trend for the airlines to drop the less economic planes (generally the larger and noisier ones) from their fleets.  Old 747s were the worst offenders and I have not seen, or heard, one for months.

On easterlies you'll get maybe a quarter of the departing aircraft right overhead, on westerlies (the more usual situation) you won't hear anything
