The Daniels department store had a very fine traditional cafe/restaurant on its uppermost floor, where it served a very fine 'Breakfast' not an 'English Breakfast' as so many of the awful so-called 'Cafes' and 'Coffee Shops' provide in Ealing with their awful tasteless 'turkey bacon' and awful turkey or beef sausages, Daniels had the real deal, pork bacon, pork sausages, it knew what a 'poached egg' was. Different, more civilised times. Uniformed, demure, pleasant staff. Such a contrast to the rude and gutteral cafes and coffee shops of today's Ealing continually change hange and open and shut down, a sad loss when it closed, Daniels was
