Test and Trace

Needed to allow easing of lockdown! Four months delay now for test and trace but lockdown easing going ahead. World class! Well South Korea are now starting to contact people within one hour. Strange language alleged from Serco who are involved in the running of it, they hope it will help to cement the private sector into the NHS supplu chain. Also is it correct a banker has been brought in to run it. See Guardian today?

It was designed to succeed, however the people behind it are ideologically incapable of handling this. It is a question of beefing up the existing public health expertise and utilising what already exists. But the privatisation of publicly owned facilities and their subsequent efficiency drives mean that the people who made the decisions have already thrown away the toolset that was available and decided that their love of private enterprise will solve it. paying well over the odds for outsourced incompetence appears to be their answer. PPE suppliers were ignored in favour of Tory party friends and donors. Incompetent and Corrupt.

I read that there are 19000 nurses from the EU currently in our hospitals. Remember just a few weeks ago the the Swiss voted in a referendum to keep free movement as finishing it would do damage to their economy, particulary their health service.

The immigrants have to pay an NHS surcharge which seems ridiculous if they are working anyway. Health tourism is a problem where people arrive specifically to get to a hospital. But most of the people currently paying a surcharge are working in this country and are paying tax and NI. Immigration has been tightened up a lot and yet the Tory government can never achieve their targets except by deporting British citizens who lack the paperwork to prove their right to stay. What you are talking about has been superseded by this surcharge. Without immigrants you would find many of our london hospitals would not function.

If we want to improve and "save" the NHS we should CERTAINLY rethink our immigration policy Mr Wilson.If you let everyone and their dog in, plus their numerous offspring (at least one of whom often have a long term health problem), and they have paid nothing into it but are immediately allowed to use it, just what do you expect?It's called Basic Economics, and The National Health Service, not The International Health Service.And a potential solution might arguably be for "New Arrivals" to pay increased NI for say, five years, based upon the number of their dependents, and tapering down over the five years?Off Topic I know, and I apologise, but it's bleedin' obvious why the NHS can't make ends meet. (As well as gross inefficiency.)

Test and Trace only works on newer smartphones, so that rules out 50% of the population, those contacted are then asked to self-isolate and not all do.

If we want a sufficient number of excellent, qualified nurses, then Priti Patel needs to rethink her immigration policy because we cannot train enough nurses ourselves. We will need them from abroad, so any nonsense salary requirements need to go straight away.

The Govt is being taken to court about all the contracts they have given out without any competitive tenders.It still doesn't work.  We still don't have enough staff in the NHS since it has been run down.  We hear that more nurses are being trained now - the problem is that it takes three years to train them.  So meanwhile those that there still are are working longer hours than they should and under more stress.  We've lost so many trained ones because of the poor pay and conditions.  I shall always remember that poor nurse who hadn't had a pay rise for years and who asked Theresa May about when they would get a pay rise only to be told that there were no money trees.  What a joke!

We now learn consultants earn up to £6250 a day for work on this system that does not work. Compare this to a nurses pay.

With well over 60 % of this moist vulnerable not able to have or use a smartphone in the first place its typical of the whole belief that the virus can be defeated by an app.Not if so few over 70 have one or can afford broadband and wifi or the charges for smartphones.I wonder if any of these experts have grandparents or actually know people with ailments of age?

Interesting article in the Guardian today regarding the £45 million contract for track and trace. What do people think about the company running it? Is it world class? The WHO dont think so.
