Julian 'two pads' Bell.

I see his personal living 'arrangements' are in the news again.  Didn't he also have a part ownership of a third property up t'north?  Or was that an unsubstantiated rumour?

Also, in some cultures, the whole extended family registers for Postal Votes, and the Patriarch kindly & generously fills them out for all of them - Democracy indeed!!!!  🤣

You need to understand the 'bloc' that votes for Sharma. Countless reports of 'pressure being applied' to 'bloc' vote him into office irrespective of the wishes of the CLP.

The role of a local council is, should be, to facilitate basic amenities to the assigned local region.  What we have now are jumped-up Napoleons massaging, honing and stamping their political beliefs in/on local regions, whilst yearning for a position in central government.  I think Thatcher understood how bad things were getting in that regard, but sadly she ran out of time before she could dismantle councils and replace them with something more suitable for their base purpose.

I find it hard to square your statement that the two men are loathed and vilified by their electorate with the substantial majorities they won last time there was a vote.

Perhaps the CLP (Constituency Labour Party) might like to take the appropriate action. However, I am not holding my breath. This will simply be classed as an 'oversight' and swept under the carpet as usual.

Rosco, I think some of the blame lies at the Tories’ door. There’s little doubt that austerity has detrimentally affected local authorities, across the country not just Ealing. However, Bell and co have used it as an effective smokescreen for their dubious activities.Also, there was a bounce in favour if Labour at the last local election thanks to Theresa May’s disastrous premiership. Those new Labour councillors have worked hard to implement the Bellist philosophy (hence our decimated library service).Finally, the inability of Ealing conservatives to land a blow on Bell and co is down to either incompetence or complacency.

Well Private Eye said last year that he rents a flat from A2 Dominion and I haven't heard about them being forced to retract this vile calumny. If other people are living there it just goes to prove further how selfless he is.There is a knee-jerk reaction among people today to read cynical goings on into the actions of people in public life. If A2 want to pay for him to go to the South of France and employ his council colleague Bassam Mahfouz, why shouldn't they! Typical that people should be mocking them for their kindness.And who better to build the towers at West Ealing!? You know they share Bell's passion for genuinely affordable housing.I've been inspired to write a protest song in support of Mr Bell's public service, based on a traditional London song. It goes like this,"My council leader likes to build skyscrapers,I don't see anything wrong with that.He wears core-blimey trousers (allegedly)And he - or possibly some family members - live in a council flat."When will this constant knocking of Bell end!?

But he does live in his million pound pad. It’s ‘other family members’ enjoying the A2Dominion house. He’ll ignore it as usual. Why has nobody reported him to the police?

Leave him alone. He cares passionately about genuinely affordable social housing. He needs to experience what it's like living in it first hand. I'm sure he'd much rather be in his £million mansion round the corner. It's a sign of how much he cares about those in need.
