PCNs to increase in Value consultation URGENT

The council has noted an increase in numbers of PCNs issued. It thinks they are too cheap and that because of this they have lost their deterrent value. Their is a consultation on the current consultations part of the council website that wishes to capture your views.After the "no reminder for resident  permit renewals scandal" not yet resolved that started back in July 2019, I wouldn't trust them with this either.Surely the rise in PCNs is to do with much larger area of CPZs and the frequently proven unworkable electronic system used to book in visitors clearly not fit for purpose.

Interesting to see that Ealing Council is registered to attend this year's MIPIM, 10 - 13 March. Stand C15, if you want to keep an eye on openness, transparency, and maybe wonder at the need to woo international, non-UK developers and builders. Also, who doesn't like some early spring French Riviera sunshine.At this rate of development LBE will be dealing with objections to multi-storey extensions being built on top of existing controversial multi-storey buildings.(Sorry, Arthur, a bit off topic .... separate thread required).

Ah yes, our old friends "MIPIM".Not to worry, our unquestionably honest & trustworthy elected Councillors and LBE Management sign "Declarations of Interest" and other such stuff, so it's all very much open and above board, nothing to see here!  😂

Better off going to Westfield for ‘proper’ shopping. Broadway is adequate for some things but it’s not exactly Oxford Street with its offer.Of course, the idea is to turn it into an exclusive leisure area with a few shops attached for the prospective residents of the swanky new build (and genuinely unaffordable) flats going up there. No cars needed!

This ridiculous measure by Ealing Council just hammers another nail into the coffin of Ealing Broadway as a local shopping centre.  Ealing Council is suffering delusions of grandeur if it thinks this scruffy, rundown borough is on a par with Chelsea and Kensington or Westminster, which levy similar levels of parking fines.Get real Ealing Council and start making this a more attractive place to visit by reducing parking charges and  parking fines not increasing them!

The consultation closes on the 30 Jan. There is a flawed piece of statistical deduction in the rubric. The Council say the reason for increasing the band and therefore the price of the PCNs is because drivers aren't feeling the deterrent effect at the moment. The stats they give should in this case show a gradual increase because over time drivers become more blaze. The stats show a step change of 30% increase between 2016/2017 and 2017/2018. Clearly this driven by a C change not by a gradual alteration in driver attitude. Where science stats and logic are concerned this council is not up to the mark.

Of course, the Council is so determined to eradicate the curse of the parked car it’s utterly failed to price commuters out of Ealing by continuing to allow all day parking on Little Ealing Lane for just £3 a day!These spaces are just across the road from two primary schools, but clearly that has no influence on policy when money is to be made. However, we residents are constantly told driving is the scourge of London and we must be taxed off the road.Obviously some consistency in policy would be nice but logical thinking is beyond most of our elected representatives!!

There could be no greater indication of how much the Labour party has lost its soul. It may be that there are a small number of people in the borough for whom the cost of a parking fine is so inconsiderable that they can ignore any restrictions but for most this is not the case and for people on the lower incomes a fine can wipe out everything they earned on the day they received it. Raising the cost of these fines is a highly regressive method of taxation.
