report missed bin collections in W5 - idiocy!

A number of blue bins were not collected today from Warwick Rd.W5. the due date according to the BoE newsletter/web page..I filled in the web form for missed collections, but having enterd my address, it then informed me that i had missed the 1pm deadline ( next day ie Friday) and could not report it!!I suspect that they forgot to reset it for the Holiday collections.So another email to (long suffering) Councillor Joanna Dabrowska.Happy New year!Nick R

If you buy anything from the online companies which do not pay fair tax for the amount they sell in the UK or packaging tax then make sure that you give feedback on any excessive packaging.  Think about alternatives.Electronics bought online can be dangerous as some do not comply with our standards and are illegal here.  Which? has reported on them including smoke detectors which don't work.  No point in buying something cheap if it is going to set fire to your home and endanger the lives of your family, relations and friends.Some of these are ones who aren't paying their taxes are here:https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/publishing-details-of-deliberate-tax-defaulters-pddd/current-list-of-deliberate-tax-defaulters

Have you ever used the street banks I think the official name is local neighbourhood banks when you run out of space?I've noticed that many people fail to reduce the volume of their recycling by flattening the plastic bottles, juice cartons and boxes in their wheelies.  As a green box user I guess I'm much more aware of avoiding as much packaging as possible!

"...... services when the council takes over the collections later in the year." will be a God given opportunity for Bell & Co to resurrect their long blackened (worse than tarnished!) reputation and show they are capable of getting to grips with things and sorting them out.We shall see, it's a VERY big one this problem, and if it continues under Bell's direct control then they can probably kiss goodbye to their majority in the next Local Elections.But then, do Non Council Tax paying Students care about Refuse/Recycling Collections?  😂

According to the Council the missed collections are due to a ‘combination of vehicle reliability and  workforce issues’. Collections should be up to date by Saturday. Apparently the assistant director of steeet services will be inspecting every road to make sure this happens.Not much consolation for people with overflowing bins for the last couple of weeks. And we’re promised improved services when the council takes over the collections later in the year. Time will tell....

So we didn’t have our recycling collected before Christmas which meant overflowing blue wheelies in the street for two weeks and people had no capacity for surely the busiest recycling period of the year; ergo recycling into rubbish and even some people asking visiting relatives if they’d take recycling with them to use at their end!!Now the first rubbish collection post Christmas due in W5 yesterday missed and the reporting function on website down.Joke!Whisper is Amey are history and this will be brought back in house on April Fools Day so current operators couldn’t give a you know what about service. It doesn’t matter who the contractor is in my mind - this is a service we pay LBE for and it’s their responsibility to provide.Sort it out you goons!!

Having a wheelie bin outside your house for a couple of extra days is hardly the end of the world and better that the mess we had with the old open recycling boxes and loose bin bags. It might be more helpful if Ealing's 'missed collection' site offered more options, like 'just my bin', 'my bin and neighbours' and 'whole street'.

I can't see any improvements occurring soon, if at all.I think that most residents of Ealing Borough will agree that under The Dear Leader and his Southall Posse everything they do is an utter shambles, and just gets worse.

HNY all.Let's see if the council will do something to improve its services and its engagement with major stakeholders i.e. residents!Their services can only get better, surely. My garden waste was missed twice last month, reported, did everything by the book.  Staff were rude when I made several calls.  Since Oct 2019 I waiting for them to collect the spare green wheeli bin and I am still waiting.  I m waiting to see if they are collecting my garden waste today, you can’t miss it.  W7

Interesting that the system wasn’t reprogrammed for the holiday period especially as next week it will be offset one day instead of two. This I will escalate higher for sure. Had to do a double take and thought what has Bank of England got to do it with bins. Then realised you meant Borough of Ealing. I’ve messaged a few residents and so far Elm Grove Road was missed but Delamere was collected late.
