No Kew Gardens Discount for Ealing Residents

I was unaware, until I saw the offer for discounted tickets in the Ealing newsletter today, that Ealing borough residents don't qualify for a local discount but many other boroughs further away do.Parts of Ealing borough are a relatively short walk to Kew yet if you live in areas much further away you get a cheaper ticket. Anybody know why this has been allowed to happen?

You don't get vouchers any more, but you can take one person in with you. Plus kids, obviously, who go free.

Used to have annual family membership when the kids were kids and it was good value. They gave you visitor vouchers as well which was a significant extra.Now we have a dog so we haven't been for years. I hadn't realised how expensive it had got. It does seem odd that Ealing borough residents are excluded from the discount.

Yes, annual membership is very good value for my favourite place on earth (well, after my home!).

If you are planning to visit more than 2 or 3 times a year annual membership is just over £70 for two. So if the two of you go everyday of the year that would be equivalent to less than 10p per person per visit. Remarkable value.And indeed still pretty good if, like me, you go about half dozen times a year.

I had no idea that this was even a thing.I remember when it cost 10p to get in. The rot set in after the great storm of 1987.

No but neither does Hammersmith & Fulham and Kingston which do qualify.
