Ealing Council puts the 2% of regular cyclists with mobility problems before non cyclists with mental and physical disabilities, the elderly, those with heavy luggage, persons with prams and young children. Would these disabled cyclists, cycle to the station with their luggage and park their cycles when going on holiday? They do not know how many cyclists have mobility issues and are therefore unable to walk a short distance from cycle racks. The population of Ealing is estimated as 342,700, what LBE does know is that 12% residents are over 70, 13% under 5 and at any one time there are c.5,000 pregnant women. It is known that 18% of the population have physical mobility issues and some 30% mental health issues. Why should an unknown percentage of 2% of the population take precedent over a minimum of 30% of known persons with mobility concerns? We are living in dystopian timesPlease respond to this consultation.
