Grass cutting

What has happened to the grass cutting services in Ealing? Why are all the green spaces being left to overgrow and become a  eyesore! If they can be bothered to cut the grass, they are cutting a line around the edge a d leaving the rest. Is this some sort of new look, because it dont work. All that is happening  is more rubbish is getting dumped and being lost in the undergrowth.. needs to be sorted out.

Exactly..  I am all in favour of doing something for wildlife but cutting one line round the outside and leaving the rest makes it look ridiculous!

Once upon a time unmowed and overgrown grass would have been called unsightly weeds. Now it's called a 'wild meadow' - and reduces the size of the mowing contract. It also reduces the areas where people can walk and sit and where children can run and play.

It is indeed for wildlife.It doesn't hurt that it reduces the maintenance costs at the same time though.(Not that I'm cynical or anything.  :-) )

It’s for the wildlife. Longer grass and wildflowers are habitats for insects. It might look messier but it’s actually a good thing.
