That's Not A Garden - That's A Park!

Was reading the property update in the newsletter when I noticed the picture of the garden in the house that recently sold in Ealing for over £3million. When I showed it to a friend she said — 'That's not a garden — that's a park!' I was unaware there were any gardens of this size in the area.

That is why I wondered if it is real!  There has been a call to not close cut your lawns so that there is a chance for the wild flowers there to flower - but maybe there aren't any?Small grandson has noticed this:  where are the dandelions about his garden - and where are the daisies about the next door neighbours. Then on his first train trip into London he asked where the trees were.  Out of the mouths of babes...

Lovely as the manicured park/garden is, there doesn't seem to be a single flower in it or a bit of the space left wild for the wee beasties to live and burrow away.

Think how many 40+ storey blocks of flats Ealing Council could get its pet developers to stick on that plot. Housing target met in one fell swoop!

Cap doffed to anyone lucky enough to have a house or afford a house with a big old garden in central areas of Ealing.

Some of the rear gardens at the top end of Park View Road are massive.However the biggest I know of in Ealing is the one with the house that is just off Walmer Gardens W13 as it occupies the 'rear space' of the houses on the four surrounding roads. It is basically an irregular shaped field with a house in the corner. You need to see it on Google Maps
