Road Closure western End Mattock Lane Lido House

Forgive me but I have no faith in the Highways department of LBE.We were never told. We can't get an Ealing Gazette. Can anyone tell me what is happening at the junction of Mattock lane and Northfield Ave? Have asked WEN others and councillors. Is it another under the radar numptie scheme?

There are two signs I now concede. One to the west of he Lido junction near Kirken Road and one to the east on the westbound pavement that you would not see if your intention was to turn right into Chapel Road.(The prohibited turn) The Highway Code doesn't say you should look where you are going because it is an understood. If you do see the sign you wouldn't be looking where you are going. The authorities can't have it both ways. So please appeal

Robert, good luck with your appeal. For sure, the council will reject your appeal out of hand. But obviously it's up to you how far you want to contest it.  I do feel your pain, the 'no right turn' sign is really not in line of sight when one is in a vehicle and contemplating turning right into Chapel Road.  A money earner for the council, for sure.

Thank you for thoughts. I have been back and seen sign. I think the sign is not in your sight line when looking right. Also with so many posts and other shop signs not front and centre. Compounded by the poorly signed diversion. I've appealed but not sure I will have any success.

There is a fairly prominent "no right turn" sign on the nearside Uxbridge Road pavement opposite Chapel Road.  Obviously no "no entry" sign as it is legal to turn in when heading the other way.I guess when you are planning that right hand turn concentration is on crossing the West bound traffic and not at signage on the nearside pavement.I suspect the re

The lack of properly published notice see above should be good grounds for you not to be fined. The signs for the prohibited right turn are small and not clear in the Uxbridge Road. Any perceptual psychologist would turn them down as not readable during normal traffic conditions. Please try the Appeal process. You can mention this thread in the evidence. Best of luck.

With turning left into Mattock lane closed from Northfield avenue I turned right recently (x2)into Chapel lane off the uxbridge road to reach Mattock lane, cost 130 GBP!! Never seen the no turn right sign before , feeling fleeced as I thought was the diversion route.

And also, footway works outside the Lido House from 12/01/2019 to 26/04/2019 but nothing for the public carriageway.

All I can see on the weekly bulletin that I get (last received 26th April) is that a footway at #1 Mattock Lane 'til 7th Jan 2021. Maybe these near Lido works don't have a permit.

I haven't seen a copy of the Gazette for well over a year.The local newsagents all used to have dump bins for them but these have gone.As to planning notices, the whole system is a joke. A single piece of yellow A4 on a lamppost now passes for 'adequate notice'. One only has to look at the proliferation of these to assess how much 'Bell's Buffoons' wish to engage with the local community on planning matters.

Does anyone know where the Ealing Gazette is distributed these days? It certainly doesn't seem to be anywhere in Ealing.Perhaps there are just two copies produced and delivered on silver platters to one J Bell esquire at two addresses in Acton!

"Footway works for road safety and accessibility" according to the TfL website. Due to finish 2 May. No further details as it is Ealing's responsibility. Link to Ealing's website.If you put "roadworks" into Ealing's website and click on the first result that brings up, you can get a pdf with a list if all of those roadworks planned and in progress. And it's not there!
