Well done the council

Praise where praise is due. They have been very efficient in cleaning up fly tipping whenever I have reported it. Not so good though in sweeping the autumn leaves.

I wonder what the roads are like around Cllr Bell's home(s). Lovely and clean I should imagine. It's not just the rubbish on the streets that needs cleaning up in this borough....

I love your sardonic humour, Dennis.  Until last week, my road hadn't seen a street sweeper since spring 2018. The Grinning Bell's grin isn't diminished any.

On Allenby Road, at the Greenford end outside the gardenless maisonettes, is a pile of about  a dozen black bags of garden refuse dumped on the pavement. I reported it a over a month ago. I have to agree, Ealing council's policy of letting the 25 year decomposition process save them money is outstanding excellent. The road sweeper, when they turn up, will confirm that Ealing council are showing sheer brilliance in using this method.Well done Ealing,

It is a difficult balance for the Council.  If they clear away fly tipping quickly some people (and I am quite sure a small minority) just see it as a quick and no cost means of rubbish disposal.  And if the Council don't clear fly tipping quickly they get accused of incompetence and the like.Not sure what the answer is but can't get my head around why some people think it is OK just to dump rubbish in the street? Is it ignorance of Council's collection cycles, no knowledge of the recycling centres, or ignorance of what living in a densely populated urban environment entails?Or is just a finger up to the rest of us?

The green bags have been sitting on the street for four weeks now.  You've just reminded me to report it.  Re the fly tipping - they need to do more than just clear it away - they need to investigate where it has come from and fine the offenders so that it doesn't increase the amount because someone has started to think that they have their own personal rubbish collection.
