Stopping rubbish collections for the week

An Aimey employee is killed by a lorry and all the staff are it seems given the week off. Our rubbish is not to be collected until Saturday.  I will express sympathy and prayers for the bereaved but this seems me to be public sector snowflake behaviour.

Firstly, sincere condolences to the family and colleagues of the operative who lost their life.I find it appalling and totally disrespectful to complain about rubbish not being collected in light of what occurred!

I posted when the council was silent. It now appears that the one crew has been given the days off which is reasonable.

As I understand it they recalled all their people that day, and those collections missed will be collected on Saturday.As for this being "snowflake behavior", what an ar*ehole you are, they are a tight knit bunch so it's completely understandable. As I read it the suspension is only on the route that was affected by the fatality so you don't need to worry about your rubbish not being collected unless you live in Northolt.

Does that mean the eight highly smelly wheelie bins sitting twenty feet from my front door have to sit there for a month?What about the food bins? The green biodegradable bags only last a week before they lose their integrity.
