information appreciated from Social history student

Were there ever an elected PARISH COUNCILLOR around our Boroughs?How did their role differ from Borough Councillors? Were they a cheaper alternative  or just responsible for all Christians within their parish Were they Co-opted for the role? Thanks, if any Social Historian can throw some light on this question

As a history student I guess you know about The London Metropolitan Archive in Islington. In case you don’t it’s worth a look. Masses of London borough wide records.

Thank you for taking the trouble to give me that information Sir. I will try to follow it up.  I cannot help wondering why this is so as i surely feel that a parish councillor could be of help ,being in constant touch with local parish people who are more likely to be established long standing residents with interesting observations taking place.

Yes and you should be able to get all the information from the DCLA not the Greater London Assembly.As you don't want to look at the websites of all the denominations so an Acton Social Historian I can say the Labour Party never consult any of them.
