Blondin Park Project

It does not matter where you live "we-want-a-roof over-our-head in Blondin Park it is a worthy project to donate a few pounds to make it happen.  I have pledged, you too can  by following the link https://spacehive.com/we-want-a-roof-over-our-head  Another 40 pledges will ensure that the Major of London considers putting some money in but this has to be done by !5th October.  Come on community -rise to the challenge

Hi Philippa, I understand your apprehension but the reason it is done this way is to ensure that your money is safe, i.e. if we do not hit the target your money is not taken.GoCard who run the money side of it are reputable, like barclaycard if this gives you any assurance.  I would however go in via your email/google rather than facebook ...just because!  Failing all that, you could always pledge to our website www.blondinconsortium.org.uk and we will take note on trust.

Philippa the Luddite here - I don't like handing over my bank details - or using facebook.  Please make it easier to just make donations!  The more data that is collected the greater the likelihood of it being lost accidentally!

To give you some perspective.  Part of the reason it appears so expensive is that it needs to be armour plated (not gold plated) because it is in a park. Also, there are no services there apart from the electricity trenched in 2016 by volunteers.  The intention was never to get all the money from the community but to ensure that it was what the community wanted.  We have bids out to major grant givers and if our goodwill has anything to do with it - we will get there.  So moments ago it was 97 backers representing over 600 people - at least we will now hit Mondays target to be eligible to be considered for the Mayors fund.

Of course it would be great to have a cafe /changing rooms/ toilets etc....but the current numbers given just don’t make it workable.A cost of nearly half a million !! (Is it gold plated?) and Ealing Council pledging just 50k !Not in a million years are local residents/groups going to make up the difference. Realistically the cost must come substanially down and the Council/Mayor /a sponsor needs to cough up more.Maybe start with a smaller building with the option to later expand?

Thank you Joan, we are currently up to 82 individual pledges. In addition we have some pledges from a local residents association and hope that this will count for more.We really want this.
