Parking Services responses to submission.

I am not happy that Parking Services have not considered the Ringo system as unsuitable for the elderly and hard of hearing and have decided that paper visitor tickets will be phased out. In an email I received today this was not considered. All I can say is that you wait until you get old Cllr Mik Sabiers. Further you might like to tighten up your department who send out a letter which contains the word I and signs itself "Parking Services". Sloppy English Sloppy department

I think that there should be more information suggesting that people contact their Councillors if they have problems with renewing their parking permits.  Not everybody can deal with all these techie things.  Those who suggest it should also be explaining it to those without mobile phones or computers.  There must be lots of people who only use the very basic if any of these things. Why do they insist on making life so stressful for us?

Data migration is extremely useful for testing that the new system works properly with correct data. Data migration has been a component of many projects I have worked on. I consider that the motivation is to save money and to possibly trip people up.

I don't think any data migration is ever simple. Easier to just let us mugs re-enter the data.

The stress involved in dealing with all these bureaucracies is enormous.  Why haven't they made it simpler?

last night i received a reminder last after i renewed my permit. going through the process i can see that i added the same information as before. so why not a simple migration process???

We may all agree that it is important to reduce car use but that does not get away from the fact that Ealing council are being dishonest in not sending out reminders. Having a small car is what I prefer. In my old job I spent 3 hours a day commuting by car. Public transport would take at least 4 hours a day. When I worked in Rotterdam there were only 2 cyclists in my office ,me and an Aussie. So our complaint is about the service

There isn't enough space for everybody to have a car nowadays.  In fact car ownership is no longer as great despite a growing population and there just isn't the cachet that there used to be to owning a car.  By many it is considered as more environmentally friendly to NOT have a car since cars are responsible for so much of our air pollution.There are those who cannot or will not think of cycling although there are alternatives to the ordinary bicycle.Take a look at how people are travelling in Holland as well as who is.  It isn't just the head-down-can't-lose-momentum-so-won't-stop-at-the-lights lycra-clad-lout.  They have different words for different types of cyclist...https://www.vox.com/science-and-health/2018/8/28/17789510/bike-cycling-netherlands-dutch-infrastructure

Parking Services ? There is as noted by many an older person living in Ealing, who are dis-satisfied with the concern Our Council has for the Road users of Our Borough. Parking spaces are inadequate, advertising posters which not many read are given priority over Safety markings and our Reports  IGNORED.Telephone contact to most officials are frustrating because the telephone is almost always never picked up.Ealing borough is badly in need of interested and Suitably qualified Officers in looking after the Road users in most areas of Ealing.

Well the Councils have lost 50% of their income from central government and are due to lose a whole lot more - no doubt despite Mrs May telling us that austerity is now over.This morning there was some bod on TV saying how wonderfully the Councils were dealing with getting more for less money and seemingly forgetting that there are actually fewer and fewer services.

It is not that long ago that citizens had a reasonable expectation that public bodies would treat you honestly and fairly. This has changed and basically you can no longer trust them not to exact money from you in ways that may be strictly speaking not against the law but certainly have no respect for natural justice.

Just saw the article about no reminders. Also apparently I need to reapply. This is a total joke. As an it professional I find it difficult to believe that migration to a new system just involves us punters re-entering the data. So they can make more money. I have not had a reminder so yet another example of ealiEa council dishonesty

Why the assumption they and everyone can? I've seen the system let people down on a number of occasions. And since when did the English language involve capitals in the middle of words eh?

Why the assumption that the elderly and hard of hearing can't use RingGo ?  I am both and completely comfortable on my PC and smart phone thank you.  And can spell RingGo.
