Total traffic madness in South Ealing around smash up

You would think that a smashed up car on the centre of the junction of Popes Lane, Little Ealing Lane, and the South Ealing Road would merit a police officer. But no, it sits for hours in the middle of the road with some red and white "caution do not move tape" on it, no bollards, no hazard lights, and no police officers as the traffic dodges around it throughout the rush hour. What is going on? If there was one place where there should be police!

Hi Jim, no sign of anyone in uniform, i.e. police, at either 5.30pm or at 7.30pm. Perhaps the policewoman had been asked to attend to "assess the situation" (again) was reporting it in and then went elsewhere?

I went past this yesterday on my way home. There was a single policewoman there who seemed to be on her phone. I couldn't see much else happening

You couldn't make this up! Wrecked vehicle left in the middle of the South Ealing Road, Popes Lane, Little Ealing Lane junction unattended for hours during the rush hour, no signs, no hazard lights, nada.Does anyone know what actually happened?
