The non-questionnaire re GoApe

This is NOT a questionnaire - it's largely a sales pitch. I've emailed the leaders of Ealing and Hounslow councils and David Bowler of the Community Interest (??) Group asking them to answer the following 5 questions and have yet to receive answers.1.What is the aim of the GoApe consultation process? If it’s to obtain people’s views on whether GoApe should go ahead, the simplistic on-line questionnaire fails miserably. Only one question covers this. The remainder of the questionnaire describes GoApe (it’s a sales pitch), shows where it will be located, asks for the completer’s borough and age (why is age relevant?), and asks which groups of people should obtain a discount (suggesting it’s a done deal). 2. What questions will be asked during the drop-in sessions?3.Focusing on the one meaningful question, how will the graded answer options be analysed? What weight will be given to the answer of each of the 5 options?  And what criteria will be used in drawing conclusions from the data analysis? 4. Why is there an ‘OK’ button below the GoApe photos?  Does clicking ‘OK’ indicate a form of acceptance of GoApe?5. Why will the results of the GoApe consultation process only be available to the Community Interest Company Board? Why keep the results from those who truly value Gunnersbury Park?

There seem to have been several companies connected but I don't see why they should make it so difficult to find out more from their Go Ape internet pages.  It is all marketing...

From the report submitted to Ealing Council Cabinet meeting:"This report aims to provide an update on the High Wire Operator procurementfor the Gunnersbury Park. The report also requests authority to appointAdventure Forest Limited (trading as Go Ape) as the preferred bidder and fordelegated authority to the Executive Director of Environment and CustomerServices following consultation with the Director of Finance & the Director ofLegal Services to finalise the contract terms for a contract of up to 25 yearswith Adventure Forest Limited."So it looks as if the company is Adventure Forest Limited.

GoApe used to be a company registered in England but that company was dissolved in December 2016. Where are they registered now? I wonder if it has anything to do with tax?

The Heathrow expansion consultation that went out last November was, if anything, too detailed. There were masses of data and papers made available and more than one proposal on which to state an opinion.GoApe and our respective council leaders, by contrast, are treating us with utter contempt and barely making an effort to tick a box. They hide behind commercial confidentiality clauses and tell us not to worry our pretty little heads about anything because they are "saving" the resources for us and future generations.The complex habitat provided by trees will not be replaced by a few token bird and bat boxes and some rusty signs telling everyone that there once used to be stag beetles in the park.We need to co-ordinate our action NOW to ensure that we are not sold down the river yet again as more public facilities are hived off to private gain.

Sonds a bit like the Heathrow expansion plan questionnaire a couple of years back. Not worth the paper it was written on!
