The continued desecration of Gunnersbury Park

While I am not in favour of the continued commercialisation of Gunnersbury Park and the overpriced designer cafe with attitude problems, if the new sports hub and the zip wire render it unusable as a  festival venue I shall be a happy person. If it is still possible to hold festivals there then might I suggest a wildlife area and centre in the middle of the remaining space and an angling centre by the pond, and if that doesn't work then a mobile communications tower as well. With a bit of luck that should put paid to the festivals.In my opnion ALL Ealing festivals should be held on Ealing Common which is well provisioned with vehicular and public transport access.

Philip, I think that Ealing Common is a somewhat better venue than Walpole Park or Gunnersbury Park in terms of public transport and it is closer to the Ealing centre car parks than either Gunnersbury Park or Walpole Park. Also, it woould seem to me that having the festivals and events in one place would mean that only one set of turf would need to be treated regularly rather than three.Another very important aspect to this is that the very large trucks that the festival and event organisers use would have much easier access via Hanger Lane and the Uxbridge Road than they would to Gunnersbuty Park or Walpole Park via the local residential roads.

Don't worry it won't matter what we say the labour drips that run the council will do what they won't to do there are already doing that with the new CPZ charges and other decision they have made

Well said. But I doubt very much that the sports hub and zip wire will stop GP's use as a festival venue.

Ealing Common is not a good idea for festivals. No parking on common and local roads get jammed if there even all events.land still recovering from circus
