Checkatrade

We found this good when we needed carpentry or double glazing. But now looking for a builder to do a garden wall etc we are not happy with the response. We have complained to Chekatrade to no effect for the majority of builders do not keep appointments and we have had one fail to send a quote even after viewing the job.  So recommended builders for a small job please?

Unless things have changed, I think you'll find that at the moment the building trade is working pretty much flat out. Early summer is the worst time to get a quote - it's better to get builders to come round at a time of year when the weather is bad to give you a quote, and agree on timing well in advance for any job that has to be done when the weather is better.
