Re Ealing Cinema

I see now the local election are over even  after councillor BELL told us that the cinema was differently safe and going ahead now I read it is in doubt once again this is just ongoing it's like pie in the sky just broken promise's back to normal then

The BTL market is dead, Brexit is coming in March 2019 and Crossrail will be the last of the 3 things December 2019. A long time to see how the market will be affected by outside factors!!!

You didn't read my post very carefully. I am not disputing that flat sales have collapsed generally in Ealing and in London. The data that is being released is unambiguous. The point was that it was too early to know what the situation is with Filmworks as they have only just started trying to sell them. High quality well priced developments are selling and this one has the attraction of being in walking distance from a Crossrail station. However they do look expensive even by inflated London property price standards and their own web site seems to indicate sales have been slow. I am not sure how you can say so categorically that the shared bay policy doesn't have anything to do with a possible desire to encourage flat sales. Are you saying it is inconceivable that someone who uses a car for work, who otherwise would have no way of parking near their home, might see it as a positive that they could now consider owning a car and buying one of these flats? If you said the Council wasn't that subtle and this was an unintended outcome of the policy I wouldn't argue with you but clearly there will be a benefit to some potential buyers.

Stuart what a load of rubbish, all the indicators show sales are falling. Last quote was that London has suffered the worst!!! as for the CPZ parking policy it has nothing to do with planning and whether the shared bay policy will influence a change in peoples attitude in purchasing these flats.

It is probably too early for any sales to be reflected in information published by the Land Registry but we should get an indication in the next few months. Normally the best units in any development go quite quickly. The Filmworks web site shows just one unit in Bogart House under offer at the moment. One of the main issues with these flats is the lack of parking. It could be that another incentive for the Council's shared bay policy is to help with sales of these flats. If you own a car but take it to work each day you could park in nearby CPZs out of hours. On the days you need to park your car in Ealing during the day a shared bay would allow you to do that.

No company will foresake profit for a Politian, talk is cheap and the words Julian says is just that.. Years have passed and nothing has happened. As for flats selling you need to take alook at the records held by the land registry for Ealing not a single sausage been sold.

Sheep.A) His cult allows lies - indeed encourages them.B) His record on not keeping to his word is well known. Hence why he somewhat struggled to even be elected as Leader this year. How is his second home going which he said he was going to get rid of anyway? Pretty sure he promised to sort that out 18 months ago. Has him and his wife flipped who lives where again yet??

At the risk of being accused of being a sheep, can someone explain to me what is happening in this case that I need to wake up and do something about?It is possible that Julian Bell's promise that the cinema definitely will be build will prove to be unwise but at the moment there is no indication that it won't be. Obviously if the flats in the development don't sell then there may be an issue but that still doesn't mean that cinema will be further delayed.He wouldn't have made the promise on the cinema without assurances from the developer and they know that if they renege they will have put the Council Leader in an embarrassing position and made an enemy of him. As a company they are big enough to take a hit from this scheme even if it means building the parts that bring them in no revenue first. They have made a huge amount in the borough already from Dickens Yard. Also selling the flats will be easier when the cinema is up and running.We can't blame a man for making a promise that we all welcomed and for which there is every indication that he will keep.

people follow like sheep and don't think, they just say well it's not to bad, BUT IT IS BAD Bell and his cronies just do as they like as always so we just have to put up with it until the people wake up and do something about it, WAKE UP THE PEOPLE OF EALING PLEASE

Promises Promises is what you get from Labour the problem Ealing has is that the opposition Conservatives are weak and like sheep follow what the Labour Council is doing and say nought.. The only thing residents of Ealing can do is move the deckchairs on a sinking ship... Things will not change until people rise up and say enough is enough and unfortunately that is not going to happen in the short term as seen in the last elections Labour increased the number of Ward Councillors..

If we do actually leave the EU there won't be a City of London or Canary Wharf for Crossrail to go to (which are it's primary targets as it were). It'll be a dead duck I reckon.

The article suggesting that the cinema might not be built is based only on speculation. Flats may not be selling in Ealing but the Filmworks location is a brilliant location right next to a Crossrail station. There are likely to be buyers for them even at the current rather eye-watering prices.

Although it seems to be headline news and point scoring for the local councillors to play football with.Pledges are made frequently from the council especially from Mr Bells mouth, deals were made between the council and the developer so whilst the local authority doesn't build or operate the cinema it certainly has a vested interest.
