ST GEORGE'S AND THE YMCA

This is a massive developer and  must have some decent architects to call upon and so why can they not retain the beautiful facade of the YMCA.  They got it for pennies and I feel they owe the people of Ealing some respect and the bland building they plan to put in it's place is just that - totally boring.

Agree, Ealing has very little architecture of merit and what it does/did have is rapidly being pulled down and replaced with extremely pedestrian buildings.  The majority of new build looks as if it has been chosen from a catalogue.  The same catalogue used by every borough in London. Do we still have a borough architect?
