Highest Point in Ealing?

in Ealing town I assume near the water tower in Hillcrest Road but is this perhaps beaten by any other point(s) within the wider boundaries of the Borough?

Mark, I've used the LiDAR data to assess the local area, OS contours are produced by the same method of extracting the heights from this data.However dependant on map scale these will have been generalised.Again depends on what the original question is highest Surface point (includes natural vegetation plus any man made structure and the terrain) or Highest terrain point as it states is just the terrain (not including vegetation).

The Highest point in Ealing was in the woods on the East side of Hangar lane.  It's a but lower now than in the mid 1970s when some of the larger trees were felled and levelled a little but from the highest point in the winter, you could see over and beyond Horsenden HillBut an ordnance survey map will give the contours of each location and settle for sure.

Just to add the highest point with a building is the Apex building on Uxbridge Rd, W5 2BS @ 126.22mtrs (Ground height of approx 30mtrs ASL.

Looking at LiDAR data for the area within the Borough boundary, the highest ground area is indeed Horsenden Hill @ 86.52mtrs.

Yes, can confirm. When I was looking at the Google Earth data for Horsenden I was only tracking the public road. But I can find an 83m point in the wood. So I expect that will be the highest point in the borough.

OS map gives Horsenden hill at 84m, Hillcrest Rd as 62m

The elevation data from Google Earth agrees that the Horsenden Hill is higher than the Ealing part of Sudbury Hill, but the data is a little different: it gives Horsenden @ 63m and Sudbury 61m at the borough boundary, (the railway track).Curiously it says Hanger Lane is 66m at its highest point. Hillcrest Rd 62m.No idea how accurate any of this is.

OK thanks for that. Had not even appreciated that the borough boundary went that far North.  Anyway, for anyone remotely interested, an elevation app I found had Horsenden Hill @ 230ft, Hillcrest Road @ 211ft (not sure whether this is at road level or on top of the covered reservoir) and Sudbury Hill @ 195ft. Not sure how accurate the app is though.

Probably the boundary of the borough around Sudbury Hill tube.

I would think that Horsenden hill is the highest.
