Lisa's

I am sorry to hear the best restaurant in the borough is to close due to retirement. A happy retirement to Lisa and her husband and I am sorry not to have heard of this earlier for a final visit. I am assuming it has not been sold as a going concern however my experience of good eating places is that they are never as good after being sold on with the name but not the staff. BTW I found this out from Ealing Today which is now a better local news source than the Gazette IMO.

This is a huge loss.I went there last night sadly for the last time.The food was as excellent as ever and Lisa was her usual entertaining self.This will be a very hard act to follow.

Really sad to see this go. There are fewer and fewer non-corporate chain restaurants in Ealing every year. I hadn't been to Lisa's for a couple of years and now regret not making the effort to go more often.As well as Charlotte's what other good independent restaurants in Ealing should we be supporting?Graham, I can't confirm your view of the Gazette as I haven't been able to find a copy for quite some time now.

It is no surprise that they are fully booked. I will look out for reopening but past experience means I am sceptical as to anyone keeping up the service that is Lisa's. So have they sold the name and goodwill?

I'm sorry that you did not see the notice in the window and announcements that Lisa and Milan put out Graham, they did their best to reach as many people as possible and have been fully booked ever since. It will re-open as a restaurant after renovations.
