Ordering a wheelie bin

The council is going nowhere but sending residents round in circles. It is nearly two weeks since I ordered a bin online. Now I look and see. ' Need a replacement wheelie bin? Please contact customer services on 020 8825 6000.' Ring them and you ae told to order on line. Vicious circle of inefficiency?

I guess you could also try using a green box like those of us whose properties aren't suitable for wheelies do - if you can find one.

E mail to my ward councillors today - I have recently moved to your ward. Before I moved I found the BLUE recycling bin had been stolen. I ordered one on the website. After we moved in I heard nothing so looked up the website. There are delays. Ring this number I was told. Ring the number and you are told to apply on the web. Sent round in circles. On October 31 I rang again and found someone to speak to when I tried to reorder green garden sacks too. I was told there was no record of the wheelie bin request. Today the website says delivery by mid- November. I have no confidence as earlier it said by end of October. Your lady on the telephone says she cannot give a date. Well having been asking for a month I think this is a disgraceful way to mistreat residents and trust you will expedite delivery. I do not want excuses. I want a blue bin PRONTO.

Maybe you can swap with someone who wants a smaller or bigger one or share with a neighbour in the meantime?

Graham  Did you see the article on the front page about the wheelie bin graveyard?  Amazing picture. I can see how this will cause delay but not how they can't reply to you properly.  Please contact your Councillors about being given the run around. This is Private Eye stuff.
