Honest Burgers

I’m quite hacked off by the decision to allow yet another burger restaurant in Ealing.K & M pulled out for their own reasons and will be greatly missed by their regular customers.I do not doubt that Honest Burgers produce a quality product, but another burger bar is not needed in Ealing.

Honest Burger is great. It can stay. Meat and Shake is also pretty good. Dirty Burger is rubbish but its location might help it survive.What Ealing doesn't have is Burritos!!!!

Maybe burgers are a good example of recycling unwanted byproducts into something that people will use.  Or is that too offal to contemplate?

I can't say I've ever fancied a Dirty Burger or an Honest Burger.  Where do these names come from?

2083 was an attempt at a bit of sarcastic humour.If MeMo is also a quality establishment then it should be welcomed.  The poor quality restaurants will close and balance will be restored. It is also a grill restaurant, which is a first in W5 I think.

No of course it isn’t HB’s fault. I’m just saying that there are too many of these restaurants. Have you not seen yet another one opening on the small terrace immediately after the old cinema site? I think it’s called MeMo or something like that.With the rise in obesity, this doesn’t help reduce it!Did you mean 2018 for the cinema?

I agree about the chippy but that's not Honest Burger's fault is it? They are a standard raiser and should be welcomed.  If burgers aren't your thing that's fine but they have a place and a huge target market which is on it's way when the cinema opens in 2083.

Message:Nearest and best chippy is Blue Ocean on Pitshanger Lane. Another Chinese one in The Avenue but I don't like it.

There are plenty of Burger joints, what we need is a chippy, a proper chippy something K&M wasn't

Despite the negativity around the concept of another burger joint, I can confirm that Honest Burger does a damn fine burger, has a good vibe and excellent service.The addition of a place like this will probably be the death nail for the more mediocre establishments like Meat & Shake and Flaming Cow, bringing the balance back down to a more sensible level.  It's brilliant! Honestly.

Spotted yet another burger joint opening soon, just past Honest Burgers on the other side of the old cinema building site.Called Me Mo or something like that.Perhaps we could fill Dickens Yard with burger joints too as Ealing clearly does not have enough....Pathetic!

That's correct. Haven't tried Bob's Cafe yet. Still miss Pizza on the Green.

The Council have no power to dictate what kind of restaurant opens. I was in Bologna recently where the local authorities have a tax code which is very favourable to smaller locally owned businesses and very hostile to large chains. As a result they have a thriving local business community and an incredibly varied choice of shops and restaurants.

Sticking with those already around, Bob's Café at the corner of Haven Green by the roundabout is very good for burgers and other dishes.

The decision will have been taken by the owner/s or leaseholders of the restaurant space. Honest Burgers will be in the same use class as K&M, which I assume is A3, so nothing to do with the council. If it attracts enough customers and is a success it will stay. If it doesn't it will disappear. Perhaps they are betting on surviving until the cinema opens and reckon on cleaning up once it does.
